Simple Beach Day

I had a cute response to my Fridays post Laguna beach, funny how sometimes we all  love just simple honestly, no matter how funny it can be. I know I do, so I thought I would create another photo with words of encouragement. After all sometimes the best days are simple days, without a lot of thought, so I will continue to create these wonderful simple words of life. My weekend so far is very nice and relaxing, I cleaned out my closest and found so many wonderful things to wear that I completely forgot I had (or that I can now finally  fit in)  . Leo was in a bike race ‘ Tour de  Murrieta’, which was absolutely so adorable to see three-year olds racing  , post soon to follow.  This picture  is Santa Barbara from our road trip up north.   Thanks for the emails …and the well wishes on my new book !

Hope you have a  simply easy  Sunday…

xoxo Cheryl

The art of doing nothing…

Today I enjoyed the art of doing nothing. I enjoyed sleeping in late. Then walking to our fountain by our house and putting my feet up…

…and I watched Leo play in the distance with his trains…

I looked at the water pouring out of the fountain again and again thinking to myself , this is really nice.

I could hear the birds chirping, funny I have been here before I and never took the time hear them chirp…

I don’t think I ever realized the tiles were such a pretty color BLUE.

and the flowers so RED, the art of doing nothing is such a wonderful art !

Hope everyone has a simply relaxing week !

The art of simply being

Last year at this time we were in Chicago, and I loved the soft overcast days that seemed endless… Today seems like a day that would never end. We drove to a  90 min. presentation for a time share in Oceanside,  that turned into a three-hour nightmare.  Leo was  running  amuck and would not stay in the babby sitting room. Darrill was  in a state of confusion with Leo running everywhere and salesmen putting some serious pressure on him. When the meeting was finally over we found out that Legoland was closed. That was the reason why we drove all the way down to Oceanside to this time share !  We finally decided to head to the beach and when we got there Leo fell asleep. I  walked along the waters edge , took a few pictures and simply let the stress of the day go. The water was so serene, the birds were flying overhead and I sat down on the sand and just relaxed.

The art of simply being .

Just for those few wonderful moments.  When we got home I took a long hot bath .  I opened all the windows and the wind blew in  a wonderful fresh scent . I soak  in the tub for a long time.  I loved the silence.  Today I can honestly say, I learned the art of simply being.

.. .I love September in Chicago.

Hope everyone has a very relaxing week.
