Winter biking…with Hunter

It was cold and rainy this last weekend, but Hunter and I went out to  bike away…and to take a few pictures with my pocket canon.

The wind was blowing the leaves around and created a beautiful  background…

I like this park for photos and it’s right by the house….funny I have never done a photo shoot here. I love the natural stone wall, the rolling hills and the maple trees.

And I love this Felt  bike I bought from my cousin… it was just sitting in his garage.

I love the leather saddle bags on the  back side…

and the military details …

I Photoshop these photos to give them a retro  look.  For anyone who  loves the military style, male or female this bike would make a great photo shoot.  Hunter thank-you for going on an adventure with me even if it was just to the park, and your photos are getting pretty darn good !

Hope everyone has a wonderful week…

xoxo Cheryl

A Wedding to remember…

Congrats to Lyndsey and  Steven  wed December 4th, 2010. I did not shoot this wedding, and I didn’t  bring my good camera so these photos aren’t very good…but I must say this was a very unique wedding. This couple is beautiful, creative , edgy and fun…and so was their wedding…

we arrived late and I was upset….but I got these great shots of this couple walking up the steps..

Steven Nunez is my brothers first-born and we all love him…

Lyndsey is a beautiful,  fun, smart and a exciting women, and we all love her.

Steven  is tall, dark , cool, edgy and a really nice guy… and they have been together for a long time.

so when we heard they were finally getting married we were all thrilled !

All eyes were on her as she looked  stunning …

Their very unique colors were purple, black, grey and pink….and white. The cake had a dark purple frosting, with chocolate cake and vanilla filling. They had a L, N and S on top for Lyndsey Nunez and Steven.

Her center pieces were black branches with hanging crystals and purple flowers stuck onto the branches. Lyndsey and her mom made the center pieces themselves wow, did they looked beautiful.

Tanya and Lyndsey, they look like they could be sisters…

and Brandon, Steven and Justin oh you can tell they are cousins.

They added just a little  bit of tradition, and a lot of originality.

A wedding to remember and I must say, we enjoyed ourselves till the last song was played.

Congrats  Steve for rasing such a great son,but you still have Emily,  and congrats to the beautiful couple  Steven and Lyndsey for overcoming any obstacle that came your way.

I hope you have a long and prosperous  marriage.  I think you are the ones who can show us all what true love is  all about !

The North shore

I wake to the  sound of waves crushing upon the white sandy beach, as I look out from my balcony I remember…. ahhh I’m still here in the Islands. The restless sea calls to me….come swim and dive deep into my  beautiful teal waters. How can I resist ?  Day three and another simply beautiful morning in Hawaii.

Today was the day we were to drive to the north shores. A drive I heard was breath-taking.

We stopped at this little quaint place on  the side of the road ,North Shores surf shop. And we rented some snorkel equipment.

ahhhh the north shores…..yes it was breath-taking….

My anticipation of these beautiful waters got the best of me, I couldn’t wait any longer, I ran to the beach and dived in not realizing the rocks were sharp as knives. She’s beautiful and dangerous , ofcourse it’s  the North shore seas…. where the waves come crashing down upon the rocks of  sharks cove.

Newport beach cottage

A cottage by the sea at Newport Beach, home of the Dory Fishing Fleet founded in 1891,  where I can hear the waves at night when I sleep taking me back to a time when I was young. Back home  and so sad, I could have spent the entire month at Newport Beach and Balboa Island. We had a simple routine we would do everyday, up at 7 am then a slow walk to the playground on the beach. Then we would come back to the cottage and  make breakfast while Leo watched his cartoon  , next  we would get on our bikes and  ride to Balboa Island for shopping and lunch . Then back to the beach for the rest of the day relaxing and swimming in the ocean. Hunter learn how  to ride his bogie board and was out on the water all day. A scrimp  boil for  dinner , which I made Sunday and I had enough left overs for all week , I will post the recipe on a later post. Another great dinner we had was at the Crab Cooker,  my favorite place in southern California to eat. We road our bikes everywhere, a bike is a must at the beach, it doesn’t matter how old you are everyone rides a bike. And boy did I tone up, how I toned up in one week on a later post  !  All  my kids came down to the beach and I was able to do a photo shoot for each couple pictures on my photography  blog.

I am wearing a 1970’s boho top with a brown and turquoise bottom. My vintage shell necklace is from Venice Beach.  Which creates a  Bohemian chic bathing suit.

Our Scrimp boil !

My son and his girlfriend had a great time at the shore.

Hunter did great on his boggie board !

We had a simply wonderful time !!  Hope everyone has a relaxing week !!
