Kim and I went shopping over the weekend to get some home prouducts and to purchase some vintage clothes . So with our coffees in hand we walked up and down Abbot Kinney blvd. and found this amazing little cottage. Tumbleweed & Dandelion. So we went in and we loved every details of this amazing place ! I love the signs and thought the cottage decor was a perfect mix of shabby chic with beachy chic. I enjoyed the bedroom where we found some amazing fabrics that I will be using for some pillows and throws for my Etsy shop. I loved the distress Venice beach signs they had everywhere and some really cool girls asked us to take there pictures. The white distressed chest was aged to perfection. And the linens were thick and priced well. I loved the stack of pillows on the bed and thought , I could live here ! Onward to the outside where the decor was as amazing as the inside ! Well if you make it to Venice Beach make sure you stop by and see this beachy chic cottage. Kim and I will be doing a lot more shopping here. Next post more shops from Venice Beach !
The Vintage Market place in Rainbow California was an amazing experience. I enjoyed every minute of this wonderful event. The theme was boho beach and I was impresses by all the amazing booths all in one place. I loved all the beautiful vintage displays but one of my favorites was Seahouse design by Lynda Lairmone from Irvine( 1st four photos). I loved her colors of gray and turquoise with her shells. I had to buy one of her market bags and she give me a great price !
Thanks Lynda !
I wore a 1960’s dress and basket bag with my boho shoes and shell necklace. I was surprise I sold all my vintage basket bags and hats, and all my white frames the 1st day so I had to go home and bring back my rack of clothes.
I work the show for John & Fab of Vintage Vendetta from Lake Elsinore, where I have my boutique space and I loved every minute of meeting and greeting the customers and I made some new like-minded friends.
Another one of my favorites booths was Mora’s Antiques also from Lake Elsinore.
Her display of jewelry was outstanding. Most of her jewelry is antique.
I had to take a picture of this pretty lady by my booth who came back the second day to buy one of my vintage earrings. Her outfit was vintage perfection.
Wow, I am inspired !!

Summer has been very busy, with vacation days, beach days, pool days, birthdays and lots of party’s and events, I can hardly catch my breath. When I finally get some alone time I can honestly say I enjoy every minute . This special night I gave Leonardo a big dinner and warm bath and put him to bed early. And this evening I decided to create a quaint alfresco dinner just for myself….la Dolce Vita (the sweet life) , complete with dishes I never use and lots of candles.
I bought these french blue and cream dishes at a flea market in Pasadena. I love to find old gems like these plates. .. with a touch of yellow…Simply earthy.
I brought outside all my candles from the house.
I decided to make a simple meal, a chicken spring salad and mint tea .
This salad is simple to make, fresh greens, cucumber, green grapes and grilled chicken. Topped with lemon , celery salt and olive oil.
I even bought a card for myself , and I wrote the menu on my chalkboard…
I enjoyed my alfresco dinner and I read my card over and over as I ate. Spending some quality time with ourselves is a perfect way to spend a summer evening. I had a cup of chai tea and strawberrys for desert . After all the work we do for our kids, we deserve to treat ourselves !
la Dolce Vita … Ciao ! Thanks abeachcottage for Good life Wed.
I have had some emails asking how do you change your thoughts. So I decided to write down my ten inspirations for this magical year of 2011 . I wrote my ten inspirations down on a pretty piece of paper and put it where I will see it everyday, just like a mantra, so hopefully I can inspire you too.
make this the year you make just one dream come true…I know you can…

Strolling down Copenhagen street with my soy chai tea in hand just window shopping, with my desire to explore, and to only look, but not to buy…
Why, because I have purchased all my Christmas items last year, and all the previous years at the after Christmas sales.
So I have boxes of Christmas cards, and lots of decorations, all colors, I just need to decide on a color scheme for this year.
I’m thinking black and white (are you not surprised?) and bright apple green, and touches of red. I did dark wine and browns last year.
I love the color of this beautiful beverage container it’s the perfect shade of fresh green.
A Thomas Kinkade gallery, I use to love collecting his art. He lives in Carmel, not to far north from here. Another simply enchanting town for those of you who love little old world cottages ofcourse from his artwork.
I stopped here to taste, Al fresco dinning for just $3.95 and they were worth every penny !
I love the Mole Hole, it’s very whimsical and seems the perfect place to discover great Christmas ideas.
Look at that beautiful red cake plate, wow that would be perfect for birthday cakes. It’s $ 245.00, but a real antique, never mind I am sticking to my budget this year.
I love this place , the vendors here ship a lot of antiques from Europe. A lot from Sweden and Copenhagen, Denmark. The city that stole my heart, Copenhagen…..What a romantic place. Tivoli Gardens,in the heart of Copenhagen, an old entertainment park with its many flowers, lights, ferris wheels, and oriental buildings, which opened in August 1843 , I was there in 2004, and is by far the most magical place I have ever been to.

Here’s a picture of Rosenborg castle, one of the many enchanting castles in Denmark.
Well for those of you who can’t make it to Denmark, I think Solvang is the next best place to taste…to explore, and to discover.
Hope everyone has a simply enchanting week .
Next week Guadalupe Beach, Birthdays and my Thanksgiving table .
The early 20th century was really the golden age for Halloween . The Halloween balls and galas would start off the winter season, and thus became what we know today as our Halloween party’s and celebration. So many people ask me why I love Halloween. Well, my mom’s birthday is Oct 30th and every year when I was young, my mom would make a grand celebration on Halloween, complete with a beautiful decorated table and extravagant foods and deserts. My mom is a wonderful cook. I still to this day call her to ask her for some of her wonderful recipes. I think maybe that’s why I became a kitchen designer. I only wish I had half her talent. I love my dinning room, I painted the walls a rich Merlot, it is a separate room so this is where I love to have chic dinners, or set up buffets. I like to use a long white table-cloth to add some drama. I have a very ordinary chandelier so I took the shades off and added some white sheer ribbons and some spider webs . If you look close you can see tiny bats sleeping in the webs.
Here I will set up wines, wine glasses trim in silver, the ice bucket, blood orange punch, fruits, cheeses, crackers, and meatballs in my antique silver tray.
I use a jewelry mirror tray I found at a thrift store, and added some candles, jars with creepy ball globe lids, and a big spider globe.
I am going to put green and black olives in the jars.
I love to serve blood-red pomegranate and pears with crackers and cheese.
and candles , candles , candles, everywhere, that’s what creates a creepy chic event, why should the kids have all the fun.
And Happy Birthday Mom !
Next post the party… join us Oct 31th at dusk ….
