Vintage Market Place…

The Vintage Market place in Rainbow California was an amazing experience. I enjoyed every minute of this wonderful event. The theme was boho beach and  I was impresses by all the amazing booths all  in one place.  I loved all the beautiful vintage displays  but one of my favorites was Seahouse design by Lynda Lairmone from Irvine( 1st  four photos). I loved her colors of gray and turquoise with her shells.  I had to buy one of her market bags and she give me a great price !

I wore a 1960’s dress and basket bag with my boho shoes and shell necklace. I was surprise I sold all my vintage basket bags and hats, and all my white frames the 1st day so I had to go home and bring back my rack of clothes.

I work the show for John & Fab of Vintage Vendetta  from Lake Elsinore, where I have my boutique space and I loved every minute of meeting and greeting the customers and I made some new like-minded friends.

Another one of my favorites booths was Mora’s Antiques also from  Lake Elsinore.

Her display of  jewelry was outstanding.  Most of her jewelry is antique.

I had to take a picture of this pretty lady by my booth who came back the second day to buy one of my vintage earrings. Her outfit was vintage perfection.

Seaport Village San Diego might look like a regular shopping center when it’s closed and no one is there, but when the sun is out and it’s time to play, this place is a traveler’s delight. Seaport Village San Diego is full of great entertainment, attractions, shopping and dining that – combined with an excellent San Diego Harbor view – truly makes it our place to be every summer. My daughter, Leo ,Geo and I had a wonderful time biking this beautiful coast. This Village has 14 acres of fun boutiques, great dining and seasonal live music and events. My  family and I usually spend a day or two enjoying this great escape. Seaport Village San Diego is close enough to Downtown San Diego that you can get there easily, but far enough that it’s a great escape. A must see California coast, hope everyone had a great Mother’s day !

A Glorious Summer…

A glorious summer in sunny California, it doesn’t get better than San Diegos Hotel Del Coronado. We stayed in San Diego for about a week and bike everywhere but the highlight of our trip was this glorious place. The sun was setting and the weather was warm with a beautiful pink sunset. We had dinner at the Boat House and the food was amazing. Darrill said this was one of the top ten beaches in the world. I can see why.

Have a great weekend !

Sailing the San Diego Bay

Ever wonder how a sailboat can actually sail at an angle into the wind? Because of the shape of the sails, the boat is actually pulled windward, not, as most people think, simply pushed along by the wind. It was fun to learn the science of how sails work and all the terms. The first step in learning how to sail a small sailboat is to learn about the different parts of the boat and its rigging. Lamar is an expert sailor so he taught us a lot in these few hours and Hunter and Darrill worked the second sail while Leo chartered our course. I learned how to steer the sailboat, and was amazed how powerful the wind took the sails. We sailed untill the sun went down.

Next post biking the San Diego bay, have a wonderful week !

Santa Barbara weekend

We have been on three weekend jaunts these last three weeks, Santa Barbara, San Diego and Big Bear, and I am now just posting Santa Barbara. I have bags in the hallway still packed with our clothes. I am becoming  one of those photographers who shoots so many photos I forget that I have all these beautiful places to post. I thought maybe I would use fewer words and just post my pictures, after all a picture is worth a thousand words, right ? Here I will start with Santa Barbara…I love this beach town, I would love to spend our entire summer here, it’s always so cool and the food on the wharf is the best fish on the California coast. We had lunch at Longborads Grill then headed to the Carousel. We rented bikes this time but brought Leos.
