Venice beach Vintage …

Kim and I went shopping over the weekend to get some home prouducts and to purchase some vintage clothes . So with our coffees in hand we walked up and down Abbot Kinney blvd. and found this amazing little cottage.   Tumbleweed & Dandelion. So we went in and we loved every details of this amazing place !           Venice 055I love the signs and thought the cottage decor was a perfect mix of shabby chic with beachy chic. I enjoyed the bedroom where we found some amazing fabrics that I will be using for some pillows and throws for my Etsy shop.  I loved the distress  Venice beach signs they had everywhere and some really cool girls asked us to take there pictures.                  Venice 042 Venice 043 Venice 045 Venice 046 Venice 041The white distressed  chest was aged to perfection. And the linens were thick and priced well. I loved the stack of pillows on the bed and thought , I could live here ! Onward to the outside where the decor was as amazing as the inside !              Venice 028 Venice 029 Venice 030 Venice 027 Venice 039Well if you make it to Venice Beach make sure you stop by and see this beachy chic cottage.   Kim and I  will be doing a lot more shopping here. Next post more shops from Venice Beach !

moms day 012

moms day 026

Seaport Village San Diego might look like a regular shopping center when it’s closed and no one is there, but when the sun is out and it’s time to play, this place is a traveler’s delight. Seaport Village San Diego is full of great entertainment, attractions, shopping and dining that – combined with an excellent San Diego Harbor view – truly makes it our place to be every summer. My daughter, Leo ,Geo and I had a wonderful time biking this beautiful coast. This Village has 14 acres of fun boutiques, great dining and seasonal live music and events. My  family and I usually spend a day or two enjoying this great escape. Seaport Village San Diego is close enough to Downtown San Diego that you can get there easily, but far enough that it’s a great escape. A must see California coast, hope everyone had a great Mother’s day !

A Glorious Summer Part 2…

When the sun was setting is when we had a lot of fun taking some family photos. Leo is in mid-air in this 1st family photo. I love to shoot family photos at this beach especially at this time of day , the colors are amazing! The white sand,  the dark blue waters , the pink sunset is why this is one of the Top 10  beaches in America. I would like to come back here every year with a photographer so we could all get in the same  picture.

Next post our  bike adventure.

Have a great week !

A Glorious Summer…

A glorious summer in sunny California, it doesn’t get better than San Diegos Hotel Del Coronado. We stayed in San Diego for about a week and bike everywhere but the highlight of our trip was this glorious place. The sun was setting and the weather was warm with a beautiful pink sunset. We had dinner at the Boat House and the food was amazing. Darrill said this was one of the top ten beaches in the world. I can see why.

Have a great weekend !

Packing for Arizona…

Leonardo and I are packing for Arizona to visit my mom and to take a drive to Sedona. Sedona is a photographers paradise, everywhere you look is simply gorgeous, even the red dirt is beautiful. I picked up a Coopix S30 at Target, but I was unhappy with the quality of the pictures. I think a Coopix is a great camera for outdoor summer fun because it’s waterproof. But I want a better photo. So I am traveling with my good Canon 60D .  As a blogger and photographer I realized how important it is to have a good pocket camera and a good DSL. My Canon 60D is a great camera for photo shoots and for my tripod but I need a small one to have with me everywhere I go. I notice on some blogs people are posting pictures from their cameras but the quality is just not very good. I couldn’t even Photoshop the photos from Darrills camera. Well enough about cameras I could go on and on …I will be posting my travels to Sedona so please join me.

There is a Solar eclipse this Sunday 20th, at 12.00 am . Around the world in four directions and in all countries there will be a group meditation. So if you feel the need join in where-ever you are and say a little prayer for peace and for the new energy that’s here in 2012 , join us here on facebook.com/events/.

Have a wonderful week

Newport Beach for Mother’s Day

A  day of relaxing at the beach with the kids is my idea of a wonderful day. I am wearing a retro 1980’s swimsuit with a 1980’s stripe tee.The weather was cool and breezy, my umbrella blew away while I was sitting there and a guy came over and said’ is this yours ?”  I dropped my small pocket camera and it broke , so I asked Darrill to take a few pictures with his phone camera. He took two. As a mom  I realized how important it is to have a small pocket camera with you at all times. I missed a lot of great shots today of the kids …

Hunter and Leo made an amazing sandcastle. Then we met Tanya , Justin and his girlfriend Andrea at the Crab Cooker for lunch. I love the Crab Cooker, I  would have to say it’s the best place in Newport Beach to eat. Lunch was divine.

(Photo Justin’s camera phone)

I love to post pictures of Newport Beach and I am sorry I don’t have any photos of the beach, shops or the food that we ate . Tomorrow I am running to Best Buy to pick up a new pocket camera. Well thank goodness for phone cameras because now I have four photos of my Mother’s Day !   A simply fun but exhausting day….hope all you moms enjoyed your day.

Review of 2011 by wordpress…

The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people.  This blog was viewed about 16,000 times in 2011.  If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.

In 2011, there were 132 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 281 posts. There were 1148 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 2gb. That’s about 3 pictures per day.

The busiest day of the year was June 21st with 307 views.

The most popular post that day was Venice Beach shopping…”The Bountiful”.

Thank-you wordpress, and a big  thank-you to all of you who have stopped by to visit my blog. I have had some request for more pictures of Costal Beach shopping and alfresco dinning at cafes.  I will be heading to the local beaches a lot in 2012, to post my latest finds so please join me and have a wonderful 2012 !
