The guests break up into groups of three and began their quest to find all the answers and the final mystery words. Here the girls are in the Theater room and they looked completely baffled…

This very creepy chic group were in the Study finding their clues.

Everyone gathered in the Palor to go over their notes. And the winner of the clues and mystery words were the gruesome 3 in the graveyard !
The creepy chic three won best costume, and received beautiful silver necklaces.
Most Simply Chic was Justin and Alyssa
Most Creepy goes to Barbara and Paul , they were dead pirates.
and the Mystery Words were
A Witches Brew…
2 oz Viper Venom
1 oz Frog’s Blood.
Darrill and I would like to say Thank-you for all who came and made this such a whimsical, creepy and exciting mystery dinner. We hope to see everyone next year at our fifth.
Yes, I love the art of paper as you can see on my other blog ‘ The Paper Mystique’ , so when I found this cute little paper shop on Abbott Kinney Blvd, I knew it would be alot of fun.
What I found even more interesting was the excellent selection of paper goods this shop had …and the mix and match wrapping papers, note cards, and ribbons.
It seems that there is a lot going on at the Urbanic , a summer social which was June 12th for L.A. bloggers, (which I am sorry I missed ) and on June 23rd a” Pinerest LA meet up ” for bloggers and people who pin. Even though I have joined Pinerest I haven’t seemed to find the time to pin, I hear it is a lot of fun ! Cool events, great paper goods , a must see paper shop ! Here is the address…
Urbanic , 1644 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Venice, CA 90291
My Thanksgiving table is simply earthy chic, white linens , my silverware, my silver rim wine glasses and my reindeer urn with gold and silver feathers. I use a silver tag for name place cards.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, and to family far far… away, and I am so very thankful for my Children, Darrill and for all my wonderful friends….hope everyone has a magical holiday !
My Christmas table here … simply enjoy !
Creepy Chic Halloween week…I love the old world 18th century Halloween decorating style, and I start my festivities with black and white, the theme I am using for my masquerade ball. Here are some of my simple white dishes with some simple touches that I have create for my Creepy Chic event.
I have added black napkins, some black spiders , cream pumpkins,my glass desert plates, and a black crow.
I bought these black and white clues cards at Micheals. I used my old cologne bottle and added some stickers for my poison bottle. And I am using my crystal antique napkin rings for some sparkle.
I decided to use my mask as a center piece, but I still need to pick up some white roses .
Darrill and I have been fighting over the three crows I bought at Target, he wanted my crows for his gravestones ! Target had some great Creepy Chic napkins, plates and table cloths this Halloween season.
I am using my french press for coffee and I am making Mexican hot chocolate and pumpkin chocolate candy, the recipes on a later post. This would be the bistro ( kitchen ). Next post the Dinning room.
I hope everyone has a creepy fun week
Shells from all the beaches Leonardo and Hunter collected this summer. Shells remind me of distance beaches yet to be discovered. The wanderlust of travel. Maybe it’s just a trip to a local beach or a park. It really doesn’t matter as long as you find a treasure. I have some beautiful rocks too but I’m not sure what to do with them.
I’ve added some of my personal treasures, white flowers from my garden, scented candles and my antique silver.
California avocados and limes are perfect for any salad, and California’s treasure. They are the perfect shade of green.
The perfect setting for a romantic Friday night dinner at home. I think I’ll make shrimp and avocado and lime salad.
Hope you have a nice weekend, I’m relaxing. Next week we’re heading to a distance beach yet to be discoved for some more beautiful shells, and I am taking you with me. So pack your bags and I will see you next week in Hawaii !
“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

( A women after my own heart )
I have finally bought a Schwinn classic bike (the Jenny from Target.com. $ 279.00.) with all the accessories, and I ride it almost everyday. Something about being on a bike makes me feel well, younger. I love riding along the California coast, or the canyons here where I live. …do you remember the classic french movies of the 60’s with the french girl riding her bike with her white tennis shoes , a little plaid dress, and a straw hat, so much fun….
In most urban cultures bicycles are viewed as legitimate transportation and not merely recreation, but sadly this idea never really caught on in the US. We take numerous little journeys, under 5 miles, as part of our everyday life…. to the store, the pub, to work, etc. Besides the obvious joy of riding a bicycle, these small bicycle trips reduce carbon emissions, congestion, noise pol-lution, and make for a happier, city experience. Well I am on my way to Venice to ride my new bike, where’s my white tennis and my little french hat ?
A weekend with the girls in West Hollywood, Kim , Danielle and I hopped into my cousins Vintage Classic V.W. bug and headed to the Gilmore’s Farmers Market in L.A. Established in 1934, when a dozen local farmers parked their trucks on an open field, once a dairy farm, to sell fresh produce to local residents, the Market remains true to its roots today.
It’s still the best grocery store in L. A. offering a remarkable selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, meats , poultry and fish, baked goods, ice cream and nuts. I am wearing 1960’s vintage baby blue earrings and a 1980’s orange dress.
At patio tables and sit-down restaurants people gather daily to visit and eat some cuisine from around the world, French crepes, Mexican, and Brazilian fare to name a few.
Vintage L.A. at it’s best, history lives here, when Arthur Fremont Gilmore came west from Illinois in 1870, he and his partner purchased two sizable farms. When the partners decided to part they drew straws and Arthur Gilmore became the sole owner of the 256 acre dairy farm at the corner of third and Fairfax in L.A.
I love this old Ford truck on display here, I can imagine the farmers loading up this truck with all their fresh fruits and vegetables and selling them right off this truck.
A great weekend with the girls and a great day of shopping at the stores and the Gilmore’s Farmers Market, for more information, www.farmersmarketla.com.
Hope everyone has a great week !
