Kim and I went shopping over the weekend to get some home prouducts and to purchase some vintage clothes . So with our coffees in hand we walked up and down Abbot Kinney blvd. and found this amazing little cottage. Tumbleweed & Dandelion. So we went in and we loved every details of this amazing place ! I love the signs and thought the cottage decor was a perfect mix of shabby chic with beachy chic. I enjoyed the bedroom where we found some amazing fabrics that I will be using for some pillows and throws for my Etsy shop. I loved the distress Venice beach signs they had everywhere and some really cool girls asked us to take there pictures. The white distressed chest was aged to perfection. And the linens were thick and priced well. I loved the stack of pillows on the bed and thought , I could live here ! Onward to the outside where the decor was as amazing as the inside ! Well if you make it to Venice Beach make sure you stop by and see this beachy chic cottage. Kim and I will be doing a lot more shopping here. Next post more shops from Venice Beach !
The Vintage Market place in Rainbow California was an amazing experience. I enjoyed every minute of this wonderful event. The theme was boho beach and I was impresses by all the amazing booths all in one place. I loved all the beautiful vintage displays but one of my favorites was Seahouse design by Lynda Lairmone from Irvine( 1st four photos). I loved her colors of gray and turquoise with her shells. I had to buy one of her market bags and she give me a great price !
Thanks Lynda !
I wore a 1960’s dress and basket bag with my boho shoes and shell necklace. I was surprise I sold all my vintage basket bags and hats, and all my white frames the 1st day so I had to go home and bring back my rack of clothes.
I work the show for John & Fab of Vintage Vendetta from Lake Elsinore, where I have my boutique space and I loved every minute of meeting and greeting the customers and I made some new like-minded friends.
Another one of my favorites booths was Mora’s Antiques also from Lake Elsinore.
Her display of jewelry was outstanding. Most of her jewelry is antique.
I had to take a picture of this pretty lady by my booth who came back the second day to buy one of my vintage earrings. Her outfit was vintage perfection.
Wow, I am inspired !!

More shops from our last weekend jaunt, San Clemente antiques and decor , a very eclectic antique shop filled with wonderful displays, I really enjoyed this store. The handmade burlap bags were priced right at about $40 each, a great bag for the beach !

It was cold and rainy this last weekend, but Hunter and I went out to bike away…and to take a few pictures with my pocket canon.
The wind was blowing the leaves around and created a beautiful background…
I like this park for photos and it’s right by the house….funny I have never done a photo shoot here. I love the natural stone wall, the rolling hills and the maple trees.
And I love this Felt bike I bought from my cousin… it was just sitting in his garage.
I love the leather saddle bags on the back side…
and the military details …
I Photoshop these photos to give them a retro look. For anyone who loves the military style, male or female this bike would make a great photo shoot. Hunter thank-you for going on an adventure with me even if it was just to the park, and your photos are getting pretty darn good !
Hope everyone has a wonderful week…
The concert hall at the Syndey Opera House holds 2,700 people. This blog was viewed about 16,000 times in 2011. If it were a concert at Sydney Opera House, it would take about 6 sold-out performances for that many people to see it.
In 2011, there were 132 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 281 posts. There were 1148 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 2gb. That’s about 3 pictures per day.
The busiest day of the year was June 21st with 307 views.
The most popular post that day was Venice Beach shopping…”The Bountiful”.
Thank-you wordpress, and a big thank-you to all of you who have stopped by to visit my blog. I have had some request for more pictures of Costal Beach shopping and alfresco dinning at cafes. I will be heading to the local beaches a lot in 2012, to post my latest finds so please join me and have a wonderful 2012 !
Yes I love SUMMER, and every year on the 1st day of summer we would write down the ten things we wanted to do for summer….and we would mark them off as we would do each thing. This year we wrote down what we wanted to do on our chalkboard so everyone could see. I thought I would post them also. Now our rule has always been these things has to be something that didn’t cost a lot of money but was fun for everyone !
1. Learn French (I bought a Car CD so everyone could learn as we drive)
2. Have a Beach Party, and camp fire..make smores. (so far we have one planned for Brandon)
3.Have a small town 4th of July. (a small town in Chicago would be perfect ! And that’s exactly where we will be !)
4.Have a tennis tournament at night. (everyone plays)
5.Backpack bike ride at the beach. (at least 6 miles)
6. Photo shoot with all the kids at the beach…find the best ice cream place. (of course !)
7. Find the best fish taco place on the coast and dine Alfresco…in my convertible with the top down !
8. Stay fit and excercise even when we are on vacation.(wear exercise clothes, bring water bottle and Ipod) .
9.Go to an outdoor concert and dine alfresco.(lots to choose from !)
10.End the summer with a “Family dinner “. (Maybe labor day!)
Hope everyone has a simply perfect SUMMER !
Yes, I love the art of paper as you can see on my other blog ‘ The Paper Mystique’ , so when I found this cute little paper shop on Abbott Kinney Blvd, I knew it would be alot of fun.
What I found even more interesting was the excellent selection of paper goods this shop had …and the mix and match wrapping papers, note cards, and ribbons.
It seems that there is a lot going on at the Urbanic , a summer social which was June 12th for L.A. bloggers, (which I am sorry I missed ) and on June 23rd a” Pinerest LA meet up ” for bloggers and people who pin. Even though I have joined Pinerest I haven’t seemed to find the time to pin, I hear it is a lot of fun ! Cool events, great paper goods , a must see paper shop ! Here is the address…
Urbanic , 1644 Abbot Kinney Blvd. Venice, CA 90291
Venice Beach shopping down Abbot Kinney . , Kim met me at our favorite store” The Bountiful”, 1335 Abbot Kinney Blvd. bountiful.com. I love the name, it’s a name I would use in a mantra. And when I walked into this shop, I felt like I was in a dream, everything floated in a surreal fantasy of bountiful things, shells, soaps, antiques salvage furniture and lots of candles and imported fabrics. Kim’s holding a white canvas messenger bag, a must have for the beach ! I have to say Kim’s white pants and her top looked so very fresh and so 70’s retro chic.
Guess who took our picture and couldn’t seem to get us both in the frame…Leo ! We went inside and bought some soaps and some shells. This is a place to ponder and to discover your inter girly side.
These shells here are real antiques and cost about $150.00 . If you are stopping by Venice Beach make sure you stop by this very beautiful and eclectic beach store, you won’t be disappointed !
Next post a very fun paper shop I found on Abbot Kinney Blvd .
We went back to Venice Beach , because I wanted to take some more pictures of the canals and this time we took grandma …
She wanted to see the canals and bike the California coast.
Leo wanted to show his grandma the beautiful flowers…
We arrived at the canals at about 630 pm. The sun glisten across the tranquil waters…
the scenery was simply beautiful.
The reflection on the water was crystal clear…and the waters so very calm. This place makes me feel so very free and easy.
Leo loved showing us the way down the path.
We ended the evening by walking the colorful boardwalk…
Then we stopped to dine Alfresco, while we listen to the piano player play classical music. At that moment I felt like I was in a perfectly directed 1970’s movie, and the director said ” play music, and let the doves fly over head “.
next to the water to see the sun set…
I love the colors of this very bohemian beach…it’s a place to linger, to explore, to discover..
it’s the summer of color…all year round !
