Venice beach Vintage …

Kim and I went shopping over the weekend to get some home prouducts and to purchase some vintage clothes . So with our coffees in hand we walked up and down Abbot Kinney blvd. and found this amazing little cottage.   Tumbleweed & Dandelion. So we went in and we loved every details of this amazing place !           Venice 055I love the signs and thought the cottage decor was a perfect mix of shabby chic with beachy chic. I enjoyed the bedroom where we found some amazing fabrics that I will be using for some pillows and throws for my Etsy shop.  I loved the distress  Venice beach signs they had everywhere and some really cool girls asked us to take there pictures.                  Venice 042 Venice 043 Venice 045 Venice 046 Venice 041The white distressed  chest was aged to perfection. And the linens were thick and priced well. I loved the stack of pillows on the bed and thought , I could live here ! Onward to the outside where the decor was as amazing as the inside !              Venice 028 Venice 029 Venice 030 Venice 027 Venice 039Well if you make it to Venice Beach make sure you stop by and see this beachy chic cottage.   Kim and I  will be doing a lot more shopping here. Seaport Village San Diego might look like a regular shopping center when it’s closed and no one is there, but when the sun is out and it’s time to play, this place is a traveler’s delight. Seaport Village San Diego is full of great entertainment, attractions, shopping and dining that – combined with an excellent San Diego Harbor view – truly makes it our place to be every summer. My daughter, Leo ,Geo and I had a wonderful time biking this beautiful coast. This Village has 14 acres of fun boutiques, great dining and seasonal live music and events. My  family and I usually spend a day or two enjoying this great escape. Seaport Village San Diego is close enough to Downtown San Diego that you can get there easily, but far enough that it’s a great escape. A must see California coast, hope everyone had a great Mother’s day !

Our trip to San Luis Obispo was simply amazing. We walked around this wonderful town for five days and I did a lot of shopping. On one of my trips I was able to visit a store I had seen on a blog, Ruby Rose. This little shop is off the beaten path but so worth your time to find . What a wonderful eclectic shop full of vintage finds, clothes and decor .  This shop had a wonderful surprise around every corner. I loved here very eclectic clothes and her row of  cowboy boots were so cool. I was delighted to meet the owner of this shop and talk about her fun finds. She does a lot of her shopping the same places I do in west Hollywood, and our vintage styles were very similar. I picked up some vintage embellishments for my jean jackets. If you’re in this wonderful  little town make sure you stop by and visit her wonderful shop.

Have a great weekend shopping !

I  spent Labor day weekend in the small quaint beach  town of San Clemente. I like the simple and easy life style of this place. I would love to have a big Victorian house by the sea, and own a beautiful apothecary shop full of wonderful smells , lotions and herbs. I wore a simple black dress and vintage 1970’s  hat to the beach which made me feel so very classic chic.  A wonderful place to ponder, wander and simply dream…

 have a wonderful week

Hats at Del Mar Race Track…

(Photo from my pinterest.love-hats )

I adore hats , I can wear hats all summer long. So on our 1st day  in San Diego  we decide to  go to the Del Mar race track . I pulled  out  my biggest brim hat that I could find.  Everyone wore hats here at the race track. The fact that it has been so very hot these last four weeks in California is one very good reason.

I have to admit the woman here were dressed to the nines, and everybody look great in their hats.  I wore my stripe dress  with my 1970’s big straw hat and my vintage lime green straw bag.

I love a simple black hat with a summer dress,  you can wear this anywhere and look chic.

A straw hat with a polka dot dress, classic .

A white hat with a pretty black dress, love the detail on the back of this dress.

A big straw hat with a fresh yellow dress and big sunglasses. Very cute !

My favorite outfits were these two girls in their classic black and white dress, hats and bags. I asked them if I could take their picture for my blog and they said of course. After all isn’t that why us girls come to the race track , to be noticed ? Well I guess so !

Hunter and I did have a lot of fun betting, even though we didn’t win . I would love to come back  here on the big  event  , opening day which is officially  hat day and a contest for the most fabulous hat !

Have a great weekend .

All photos by  Hunter and  myself .

A Glorious Summer Part 2…

When the sun was setting is when we had a lot of fun taking some family photos. Leo is in mid-air in this 1st family photo. I love to shoot family photos at this beach especially at this time of day , the colors are amazing! The white sand,  the dark blue waters , the pink sunset is why this is one of the Top 10  beaches in America. I would like to come back here every year with a photographer so we could all get in the same  picture.

Next post our  bike adventure.

Have a great week !
