Kim and I went shopping over the weekend to get some home prouducts and to purchase some vintage clothes . So with our coffees in hand we walked up and down Abbot Kinney blvd. and found this amazing little cottage. Tumbleweed & Dandelion. So we went in and we loved every details of this amazing place ! I love the signs and thought the cottage decor was a perfect mix of shabby chic with beachy chic. I enjoyed the bedroom where we found some amazing fabrics that I will be using for some pillows and throws for my Etsy shop. I loved the distress Venice beach signs they had everywhere and some really cool girls asked us to take there pictures. The white distressed chest was aged to perfection. And the linens were thick and priced well. I loved the stack of pillows on the bed and thought , I could live here ! Onward to the outside where the decor was as amazing as the inside ! Well if you make it to Venice Beach make sure you stop by and see this beachy chic cottage. Kim and I will be doing a lot more shopping here. Next post more shops from Venice Beach !
More shops from our last weekend jaunt, San Clemente antiques and decor , a very eclectic antique shop filled with wonderful displays, I really enjoyed this store. The handmade burlap bags were priced right at about $40 each, a great bag for the beach !
Have a fun weekend shopping !

I have been away for a while, but I am back in time for some summer fun. Just got back from Chicago and it stormed the entire time we were there. But I had a great time shopping at Lincoln Square. The shops there in that part of town are truly unique. The Merz apothecary shop had more herbs, and herbal remedies than I have ever seen in one place. I walked out with some coconut oil, they say its great for your skin and hair . This shop was established in 1875. Being the hat person I am I had to stop and get that cute beige hat with the black ribbon. A great buy and the perfect hat for the beach. I always stop at Pot Bellys when I am in Chicago and have a wreck sandwich with an ice tea. This sandwich shop is so homely. This large sandwich chain started out as an antique store and the owners decided to make some sandwiches for the customers. Now it’s one of Chicago’s largest sandwich shop ! Chicago was a great place to visit but I am so glad to get back to sunny California !
Hope everyone is having a great summer !

I am very happy to have had the pleasure to build a website from my photography. Maria has a beautiful antique shop in Old town Lake Elsinore, and her one of a kind items are simply amazing and very reasonably priced. You can view her website here. http://www.mariasantiques.net/
Styling, design and photography by Cheryl
I have a closet down stairs full of Venice Beach bohemain clothes(now which is my shop space & Etsy shop) and hats so when Danielle wanted a photo shoot I just had her come over and I dressed her with my hat, top, jean skirt, belt and shoes. I use this Ralp Lauren sette a lot for my shoots. Old books and teacup from my local thrift store.
I have always loved going to Summerland, California. It’s a whimsical place with beautiful cottage style houses and wonderful antique shops filled with imports from Europe. One of my favorite shops is Botanik. It’s filled with wonderful garden style items for your home…. You can see this post on my other blog..thepapermystique

In 2011, there were 132 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 281 posts. There were 1148 pictures uploaded, taking up a total of 2gb. That’s about 3 pictures per day.
The busiest day of the year was June 21st with 307 views.
The most popular post that day was Venice Beach shopping…”The Bountiful”.
Thank-you wordpress, and a big thank-you to all of you who have stopped by to visit my blog. I have had some request for more pictures of Costal Beach shopping and alfresco dinning at cafes.
