The Historic Haunted Queen Mary…

It was a rainy weekend on the historic haunted Queen Mary……do I think the Queen Mary is haunted ? Why yes.

Walking around the docks at night was very cold, but we enjoyed the cool brisk air…I gave my canon 40D to  Hunter and he took most of these photos. Darrill booked us a suite so it was a very nice room, but the boat was cold and drafty and it seem like I couldn’t warm up… The details on this boat were amazing and to think it was built in 1936. The Queen Mary was considered the grandest ship ever built and the elite of high society and I could see why. Leo wanted to know when the ship was going to take off to sea ,  he didn’t understand why it wasn’t going to leave port.

Affirmations are a way of Magic…

Affirmations are very powerful tools, so powerful  that they could seem to be magical. They are a way of Magic. When you perform affirmations, you are in effect sending out to the Universe a declaration or command. And although it may seem that only you are hearing the words, this is not so. These words go out to the Universe and also heard by your inner Universe.  This is the Law of Attraction.

Affirmations work on many different levels. An affirmation can affect your own and other people’s conscious and unconscious levels. If you affirm and it involves others, you are in a way communicating with another person’s higher self. This is when   results come quickly. The power of positive thinking and affirmations is only limited by your personal conviction and belief that the affirmations are working. If the affirmations are only done half-heartedly, those are the results that will be received. But if you believe completely in achieving the aspiration stated in the affirmation, then it is almost sure to be achieved. Visual affirmations work in pretty much the same way, so when you use both verbal and visual you are most certainly going to acquire your desire. Good health, a thin body, true love, prosperity, travel, a new job whatever it may be.

Practice believing whatever you are saying or visualizing for a few minutes, several times a day everyday. After a while, these affirmations will become the way your body, mind and spirit respond to the challenges of everyday life. If done regularly and with sincerity, you will soon be surprised by the changes you see starting to occur in your life. Once you intensely believe you can make positive changes in your life and accomplish your desires you must focus that intention, visualise the outcome, gather your strength, and send that vision outward to become your reality.

If you decide to make use of affirmations in your life, be prepared for change. Remember what they (my mom) always say, be careful what you ask for, because with affirmations it can manifest quickly. I will outline on future posts some powerful  affirmations. When I am in nature , my affirmations seem to take a hold of my life and materialize right before my eyes…. just like Magic !

March Equinox 2012

The March equinox 2012: March 20, at 05:14 UTC (or 5:14am).

The March equinox occurs the moment the sun crosses the celestial equator – the imaginary line in the sky above the Earth’s equator – from south to north. This happens either on March 19, 20 or 21 every year. On any other day of the year, the Earth’s axis tilts a little away from or towards the Sun. But on the two equinoxes, the Earth’s axis neither tilts away from nor towards the Sun.

One of the most famous ancient Spring equinox celebrations was the Mayan sacrificial ritual by the main pyramid in Chichen Itza, Mexico. The main pyramid – also known as El Castillo – has four staircases running from the top to the bottom of the pyramid’s faces, notorious for the bloody human sacrifices that used to take place here. Knowledge of the equinoxes and solstices is also crucial in developing dependable calendars, another thing the Mayans and their predecessors clearly had gotten the hang of .The Mayan calendar was very precise in this respect, but today the Mayan calendar is most famous for ending exactly on the December solstice: 21 December 2012, at 11:11 UTC.

The Queen Mary

It’s been too sunny here in California and I am looking forward to a rainy weekend on the historic haunted Queen Mary…

The Queen Mary’s story is rich with history, elegance and grandeur. From the time her construction began in 1930 in Clydebank, Scotland, she was destined to stand in a class all her own. Upon her Maiden Voyage in 1936 the Queen Mary was considered the grandest ship ever built and the elite of high society considered her the only civilized way to travel. From celebrities like Fred Astaire to dignitaries such as the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, she carried some of the world’s most renowned personalities and political leaders.

In 1939, at the start of the World War II, the Queen Mary was drafted into service and outfitted as a troopship. Deemed the Grey Ghost due to her new camouflaged grey exterior, she joined the Allied Forces and played a crucial role in their success. When the war ended, she was restored to her former glory and continued passenger service. In 1966, with the growing popularity of travel by plane, Cunard announced the Queen Mary for sale and closed bidding began. The winning bid was $3.45 million dollars and thus began the ship’s transition and new journey to her new home in Long Beach, California. Information from

The Magic of Nature…

The magic of nature is everywhere. The most meaningful meditation , dreams and experiences come through entering a magical relationship with nature.  I have traveled the world and photographed sacred sites  like Stonehenge, Mayan temples, The Tor, The Great Pyramids, and all the great temples along the Nile. But you don’t have to travel to these sacred sites to understand the magic of power spots. Some of the most magical places are right here in our home towns. A fountain, a spring, a park, a beach or lake, an old town, a big old tree, a historical building, a flagpole, an outdoor amphitheater. Anyone of these places make an excellent background for a photo shoot .

In seeking out these sites you’ll come to find that these places can inspire you and give you a sence of sanctuary, a place that can recharge you. You don’t need a special reason to seek out a power spot, sometimes it’s great just being there.  Maybe in return you can give thanks to mother earth and by doing this you have created a positive energy flow between you and nature…

A touch with nature is a touch with magic..

Back on a Bike

I have had some emails asking what should you look for when buying a bike. Most of us haven’t rode a bike in well 10 years, or maybe 20. Leo’s grandma got back on a bike and rode all day at Venice Beach, and she’s 72, I was impressed ! So getting back on a bike isn’t always so easy. And  we sometimes make the wrong choice when purchasing a bike. l I purchased three bikes this last year and realized all I needed was the jenny-7-speed- Schwinn. I bought a cool beach cruiser and gave it away to my daughter. Then another beach cruiser and sold it at a garage sale. I love beach cruisers and everyone rides them at the California beaches but I needed speeds when I was on a long bike ride. I love the lunus bikes but they are out of my price range, and of course the new beg bicycles wow, beautiful . I made a  list below for bike must haves .

1.must have a removable basket, for everything .

2.must have  a bell, to ring on the busy bike trails.

3.must have a  least 5 speeds, I have 7 but 5 is good. 10 to 21  for lots of hills.

4.must have a comfortable seat, do I need to say more ?

5.must have a back rack, I put my camera bag here. must have canvas shoes, heels and bikes don’t mix.

I recommend the Hybrid – Schwinn – 21 speed – Aluminum. This is the replacement for the bike I have and I love it. It’s cool enough for the California beaches and light enough to put on my bike rack , and I like the retro styling.

The 700C Schwinn Solitaire Hybrid Bike is the perfect way to commute to work and see the city in style. Hit the trail on this hybrid bicycle that features an upright riding position with padded saddle for a comfortable ride. The SR Suntour suspension fork is designed to absorb every shock and keep you at ease. You can choose from 21 speeds and SRAM grip shifters and linear pull-brakes allow for easy gear changes and stops. The 700C women’s Schwinn bike features high-quality Aluminum City Frame .  $ 249 online at Target… cycle or…
Northwoods Ladies Springdale 21 Speed Hybrid Bicycle White

Northwoods Crosstown 21 speed Hybrid Bicycle is perfect for anyone looking for a dependable bicycle for commuting or recreational use. A hand crafted lightweight aluminum frame, 700c alloy rims, Shimano components and even a rear rack create an amazing value. Available in white (Womens) and black (Mens).
