Planting a garden…

Leo planted a garden today and I am proud to say he did it all by himself, just because he wanted to. Have you planted the seeds for the beauty you want to add to your life ?

Have a wonderful weekend.

The natural simplicity of life…

How can you start seeing yourself in a different light? New Moon is in the dreamy sign of Pisces, which means things that have been hidden will surface and you will not be able to hide anything anymore. Is there something you have been hiding ?  Let it out and let it go. Also your dreams are very insightful at this time so pay attention and see what your higher self is trying to tell you. Light a candle before you go to sleep ,  sweet dreams as your imagination soars and those dreams may surface and become your reality before you know it…Think of pure, original thought as imagination. Think of it as a concept similar to the natural simplicity of life,  …let your dreams unfold and bloom…

Have a great day and night…

Heading to  Old town Pasadena to shop and dine.

Post soon to follow… xoxo

Lavender the gift of love…

Lavender is the gift of love…why not give herbs instead of flowers , a beautiful scented soap, or some wonderful lavender lotions . I spent the day here at the Temecula  lavender Company in Old town Temecula buying some gifts for some friends and myself.

They harvest their lavender locally and make everything for the store here. I love these handmade lavender soaps.

The smell of lavender is so calming , true lavender is related to the mint Lamiaceae family. Also Know as English lavender though not native to England.

It is a flowering plant native to the western Mediterranean region. True lavender includes Spanish lavender, Spike lavender, but Lavandins include Sweet lavender from Provence. And why not try lavender for cooking. A wonderful place to shop and I found their prices very reasonable.

You can visit there website here. temeculalavenderco.

Tonight after dinner am going to soak in these wonderful oils, soaps and lotions.

Saddened by Whitney Houston news …

So sad to hear of Whitney Houston’s death at 48.  I grew up with her music and loved her movies. Her album “Whitney”  came out in the summer of 1987 and had  hits such as “I Wanna Dance with Somebody “, “Didn’t We Almost Have it All “, and ‘Where do Broken Hearts Go”. I listened to it during a hard time in my life , she lifted me up with her amazing voice and her heart felt energy. Her song from the movie “The Bodyguard ” (which I bought and watched often) ” I Will Always Love You ” was the all-time most heart felt female song of the decade . With her amazing music which came from her beautiful soul,  and her intense passion for the people she loved,  it’s indeed a sad day as she has been taken away from us here on planet earth, but there’s a new angel singing in heaven…

Celebrate love …

It’s  Valentine week and I am feeling so very red…I pulled out my retro red polka dot dress, my white tennis and my white sunglasses and went for a ride…

Have you ever had a moment where you felt like you were back in time ? I felt so very 60’s today , a simple time with no cell phones. It’s sunny here in Southern California and I love the fact I can ride my bike today,  in early February.

And I found the perfect red and yellow awnings to have lunch under….

Yes I am a hopeless romantic , and I love Valentine’s day ….but not every day can be Valentine’s Day, but how much more romantic the world would be and how much happier we would feel if we remembered  to show the people we love that we are thinking of them. The simple gestures , to show affection, to be forgiving and  to listen, to be generous with compliments and to be passionate with each other,  everyday… to celebrate love…celebrate life…celebrate each other…

Have a happy day,

xoxo Cheryl.

from …Wikipedia:

‘Valentine’s Day or Saint Valentine’s Day is a holiday celebrated on February 14 by many people throughout the world. In the West, it is the traditional day on which lovers express their love for each other by sending Valentine’s cards, presenting flowers, or offering confectionery. The holiday is named after two among the numerous Early Christian martyrs named Valentine. The day became associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished

Summerland Garden Style…
